Choose a habit to change and wear your Pavlok.
Easiest way to get started with Pavlok is to pick just one habit.
We have pre-built mini courses to get you started with the most common bad habits.
2Get zapped when you engage in your bad habit. How?
Pressing the lightning bolt on the wristband or zap button on the phone app.
Or automatically through one of our many integrations (for advanced users)
3Your brain creates an aversion pairing the zap with that habit.
Bad habits die hard because they feel good.
Adding the zap stops that reward loop so you can get on your way to being a habit master.

Can Pavlok break more than one habit at a time?
Habit breaking takes a lot of focus. We suggest that you tackle one bad habit at a time to truly maximize your results, but this all depends on what works best for you. One customer jokingly told us if she tried to break ALL of her bad habits she would be "zapping herself all day long". Remember we do not want to confuse your brain. As soon as you receive that zap your brain should instantly begin to associate that bad habit with the negative stimulus. While we do recommend breaking one bad habit at a time, if you want to tackle two at a time that is completely up to you.
How quickly are habits broken?
Bad habits vary greatly based on both the person and the habit. It's hard to say exactly how quickly you could break your bad habit, and a lot of it depends on how strong your habit is and how committed you are to using Pavlok regularly to combat your habit. For most users, habits are broken in anywhere from 2-10 days, with the average being 5-7 days. Some especially difficult habits may take more time.
Do I make it zap manually or does it automatically zap me?
Both! Pavlok's MOST EFFECTIVE use case is manual. However we have already released iOS and Android applications that will allow you to pair with your Pavlok and automatically trigger stimulus using the remote control feature or an integration that can track your actions and know when you're performing your bad habit. Check out the apps page to learn more.
What is the battery life of Pavlok?
Pavlok is designed to be power efficient. We use Bluetooth low energy to connect to your smart phone, and the device enters sleep mode when not in use. Most users can expect 3-5 days of battery life per charge – and Pavlok charges in about an hour.

I’ve survived cancer and a heart attack so my diet has to be kept to a whole-food plant-based diets so I use Pavlok...There’s nothing else that works. If you don’t get a Pavlok you are going to fail...I think a person is a fool if they don’t at least give it a try.

I have been biting my nails for 25 years... After many failed attempts I just wasn’t successful and I continued to bite my nails especially when I was on the computer, driving, deep in thought. [Pavlok] helped with the success of quitting nail biting.

I’ve been smoking for over 15 years, almost a pack a day, and I’ve tried over 20 times to try to stop smoking. I’ve used Chantix, I’ve used the gum, the patch, even hypnosis, nothing ever worked. I heard about Pavlok and decided why not give it a try... and I’m so happy that I did.

I’ve had a problem with biting my nails my entire life --- I’ve tried everything to stop. I decided to try Pavlok --- within 2 days, I’m so much more aware of myself biting my nails, and I catch myself before I do it.”

Before I started using Pavlok, I was smoking about 18 cigarettes a day. With Pavlok, I've [in first week] been averaging about 7 a day. [... Week four] is my first week not smoking at all… whenever I drive by a gas station and think, ‘Maybe I’ll get a pack’, I just shock myself.

Honestly, [the Pavlok] along with my personal want to be like, “I'm not doing that anymore,” I haven’t pulled a single hair out in a week. Which for me is like a major deal because I can't think of a single day that I haven't pulled out a hair for as long as I can remember.
